[Palworld Diary] Running a Fishing Spot at Your Base

1. Recommended base location

My fishing base is here — a spot completely safe from outside intrusions!

It’s the piece of land to the left of the Aigoh boss.

At first, I built it in a bumpy, uneven shape like the photo below,

but later I reorganized it and smoothed it out into a more rounded layout.

2.Running a large-scale fishing operation

At first, I built this setup just to farm Coralium.
You get Coralium from the sea by using the “salvage” method, but I really didn’t want to spend 30 minutes to an hour doing that grind manually.

So this was my attempt at a semi-automated solution.
And since the fishing base is right next to the ocean, I can immediately go out for salvage runs whenever I need to.

How to run a large fishing hub

1.Build 10 Large Fishing Ponds
2.Use Onions, Carrots, Flour, and Pal Oil to craft Luxury Fishing Bait
3.Select “Large Fish Shadows” and load 10 bait (10 bait = 1 fishing session)
4.Let your high-handiwork Pals rush in and start fishing
—or assign them permanently. (e.g., Splatterina)
5.When all 10 fishing sessions are done, open the blue chest in front of the fishing pond
6.Inside you’ll usually find: – Whistles, – Growth Stimulants, – Gems, – Coralium (★), – Training Manuals (★),  - Keys, – Fishing Rod schematics,  - Ammo (useless),

3.Loot overview

Whistles and Growth Stimulants pile up way too fast,so sell them off to the merchant as soon as you can.

Q. How many Coralium do you get?
The amount of Coralium is random, but usually… you get min 5 or more.
Roughly 5–11 each time.
Since there are 10 fishing ponds, that’s about 50–110 Coralium total.
I don’t run my Palworld server all day, and I rarely use weapons that consume Coralium,

so this level of rotation is more than enough for me.
If you need a lot of Coralium, honestly… you’ll have to grind salvage.

Q. Making bait, taking out items… isn’t fishing just as annoying as salvage?

One of the reasons I hate salvage is the long travel distance and the empty ocean.

Fishing has much shorter travel routes than salvage
(though you get fewer Coralium because of that).

If you build your fishing ponds in a circular layout, you can log in and do one clean loop to restock all the bait — it’s actually manageable.
And if your carry weight is low, salvage is annoying because you have to return to base whenever your bags fill up.
But with fishing, you can place a merchant at the base and immediately sell unwanted items on the spot.
Huge quality-of-life advantage.

4.Pal Drops

Fishing also gives you Pals.
When you select “Large Fish Shadows,” you can get the following Pals:
(You would list your Pals here — just continue with your next line.)

Of course, the only useful ones among them are Blazehowl Pup (fire making), Lumis (irrigation), and Dronkey (Pal Oil).
I still haven’t found a purpose for the others.

Eventually they pile up way too much, so I’ve been compressing all of them into Pal Essence…
but even that’s going to hit a limit at some point.

Maybe I should start sending the compressed ones on expeditions…?

Supplies for smooth Large Fishing Pond operation

Pal Oil supply: Fully concentrate a Dronkey so it can produce Pal Oil nonstop.

Merchant: Capture a merchant and place them at your base, so you can quickly sell off all the items you get from fishing.
